LENT 2012

We will have 3 worship services on each Wednesday in Lent – 12 Noon, 5:30pm and 7:00pm – three great opportunities to worship. Various teams of the church will also provide a meal from 5-6:45pm each Wednesday night. Our worship theme this year is “The Road of Discipleship: A Baptismal Journey to the Cross”. We’ll explore our road of discipleship to Jesus Christ in light of the promises made to us in baptism and in light of the responsibilities that parents, baptismal sponsors and the congregation accept on behalf of those baptized in our midst. Each week of this journey (beginning Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22) we will take up a different aspect of those promises and responsibilities, reflecting on them through worship and scripture.
Another worship and prayer opportunity will be offered through the Holy Week Prayer Journey (Monday, April 2 through Thursday, April 5) from 8am to 9pm daily in Bethel Hall. We will provide participants with an interactive, multi-sensory opportunity to reflect on the last week of Jesus’ life and a time of quiet in the midst of their busy lives.
